His Majesty's Titah

How did the Bruneian respond to this? usually, his titah is heard till here in the UK..but i didn't here anything..why...is it a sensitive topic to all when we're so proud to say Islam as our religion..let's think and don't leave our religion behind any other things..may we always be on the right path aminn...

In his titah:

"Personally, I do not hesitate to say that in Brunei Darussalam there are still many people who are ignorant or not too literate about religion. This disease does not only infect todays' children but also in the past as a result of the 50 year old non-compulsory religious school system. Proof of this are cases where children and youths can still be seen playing in sports ground even when the time for the evening maghrib prayer approaches or they continue to play during the prayer time itself. During various functions or gatherings, teenagers and youths are often seen to overstep the boundary by emulating the cultures of other people such as in the ways they dress and behave which were recently featured in the internet and other media that cause concern to parents. Why are such things happening? Does this not show a shallowness in religious knowledge,or total absence of religious soul? There is no doubt that these are the consequences of religious schooling not having been made compulsory for 50 years. In short, various defects can happen because of the weakness of the religious school system caused by under-nourished religious spirit. People can shy away from or dislike religion. For example, at one time the college of Nursing had taught religion but now this has been done away with. If this story is true, why has it been stopped? Why has Allah's light on the college been extinguished? I have heard in some places overseas, treatment according to Islam is given at ordinary hospitals but for our part, we omit religion in places designed for reaping knowledge such as colleges and universities, and while hospitals are now including religion, we on the other hand take it out. Where is the wisdom in this and where are the talks of supporting a zikir nation? In truth, Allah the Al-Mighty is now revealing our hidden disease of never making religious school compulsory that has dragged on for 50 years."

Amal, it was a very touching video from you! Indeed, last night I was on the verge of giving up..and I cried! but alhamdulillah After reading al-quraan I found peace..and Yes I must not give up...as what "Ahmir" said " Giving up AIN'T my STYLE bebeh~ hehe~

and Oh yea I watch this japanese drama, the leading actress said " Once you run away. You'll be running AWAY for the rest of your life" so I wont run away from studying! I wont break my promise to my family!

I found this hadith when I was surfing. I've heard about it before from a talk but somehow forgotten the exact hadith.

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : "ليس الشديد بالصرعة، إنما الشديد الذي يملك نفسه عند الغضب".

Maksudnya:
Daripada Abu Hurairah RA bahawasanya Rasulullah SAW bersabda : "Bukanlah orang yang gagah perkasa itu seorang yang mampu merebahkan orang lain, tetapi sebenarnya orang gagah perkasa itu ialah orang yang mampu mengawal dirinya ketika marah".

Keterangan:
Sifat marah adalah sifat semulajadi yang ada pada setiap insan dan marah itu akan menjadi baik bila kena pada tempatnya, seperti marah kerana orang lain mempersendakan agama atau merubah hukum dalam agama dan sebagainya. Tetapi marah bukan pada tempatnya adalah satu perangai yang keji, kerana marah akan mengakibatkan seseorang itu bertindak dengan terburu-buru dan mengikut hawa nafsunya dan biasanya akan menimbulkan penyesalan di kemudian hari.

Sebenarnya syaitan berusaha mengapi-apikan lagi kemarahan seseorang apabila sedang marah lalu mengakibatkan tindakan luar kawalan tanpa disedari. Maka seseorang yang dapat mengawal dirinya daripada melepaskan kemarahannya bererti ia telah berjaya melawan syaitan yang mahu mengheretnya ke jurang kebinasaan, kejahilan dan penyesalan.

Kemampuan seseorang melawan syaitan adalah lebih hebat daripada kemampuan seseorang yang hanya dapat menewaskan musuh yang nampak di mata.

London weekend getaway!

I typed Londong! Haha.. Anyways Fai told me about spending a weekend in London for N7 in the UK. I am interested! :D So if you're interested join lah. But inda plg confirm lagi ni. So it would be weekend of the 12th February pasal 5th I tak dapat. Or any other weekend. But probably 12th is good kali. SO I need you to vote! or propose any other dates. Spare one weekend for us! Hehe..
